Adriana Martins is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Human Sciences, where she teaches Metaculture, Society and Diversity, Culture and Globalization, Portuguese Film and Portuguese Culture. She is also a Senior Member of the University’s Research Centre for Communication and Culture.

Among her main research interests are Culture Studies, Film Studies, Comparative Literature and Intercultural Communication. Her most recent book is Mediations of Disruption in Post-Conflict Cinema (co-edited with Alexandra Lopes and Mónica Dias, Palgrave Macmillan, 2016). Among her other books are Plots of War: Modern Narratives of Conflict (co-edited with Isabel Capeloa Gil, Berlin/Boston: de Gruyter, 2012); A Cultura Portuguesa no Divã (co-edited with Isabel Capeloa Gil, Lisboa: UCEditora, 2011); and Conflict, Memory Transfers and the Reshaping of Europe (co-edited with Helena Silva, Filomena Guarda and José Miguel Sardica, Newcastle-upon-Tyne: Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2010).
